Norfork Lake was the site of the first tournament in a series of 5 tournaments. After a summer of very high water anglers were anxious to get on the water and compete in the Mid-Central Buddy Winter Bass Tournaments.

Ron Weiss of Cotter, AR and Larry Dickey of Yellville, AR took 1st place fishing with 13.53 pounds. The team was fishing with ½ oz spinnerbaits in 1-4 feet of water. They fished the mid-lake area and caught 15 keepers early in the day, taking home a check for $1020. They also had Big Bass that weighed 4.15 pounds earning them an additional check of $430. They also took home the Ranger Bonus money of $500 because they were fishing out of a Ranger Boat.

Second Place went to the Harrison, AR team of Guy Wickersham, Jr. and Chris Crow. They fished ½ oz spinnerbaits in the dam area in 1 foot of water, Catching 8 keepers with their best 5 weighing 13.18 pounds, taking home a check for $610. Guy and Chris are sponsored by Guy’s Sign Co.

Third place and $400 went to Max Atkinson & Kenny Gipson of Mtn. Home, AR with 12.80 pounds. They fished flats in the dam area and caught their limit on spinnerbaits. They are sponsored by Bass Cat Boats.

4th Place: $290 with 10.84 pounds –Robert Tilley –Yellville, AR

5th Place: $180 with 10.77 pounds – Darrell Stuart & Leon Newberry – Salem, AR

6th Place: $150 with 10.56 pounds – Chris & Carl Jones – Everton, AR

7th Place: $100 with 10.46 pounds-Jeff Johnson & Pat Johnson-Ash Flat, AR
